America, now ...

Many voices are crying out, God bless America.
But what will be? What is God doing?
What has He said He will do?
2nd Chronicles 2:14 covers the situation which many quote in part.
The omitted part is often about repenting.
Of what shall we repent? That is the question to be answered.
The scripture quoted so often in asking God to bless America has a part right in the middle of it that includes "...turn from their wicked ways..." What?! America has to turn from wicked ways???!!!
Apparently so.
At least the question must be answered, so we may repent and turn from our wicked ways as the scripture says.
What are those wicked ways? Is it wicked to ignore God? Is it wicked to omit God? Is it wicked to exclude God?
Is it wicked to withhold God's truth? Is it wicked to forbid the little children from coming unto Him?

which are called by my name

and pray
and seek My face
and turn from their wicked ways
then
will I hear from heaven
and forgive their sin
and heal their land
Many say the words One Nation Under God.
Remember Jesus talking when He said, "This people draw near to me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me." See Matthew 15:8 and Mark 7:6, Isaiah 29:13

One test of whether we be in the faith or not (2Corinthians 15:5 speaks of testing to see whether the faith is being kept) is are we lifting Him up to our children? This is a very old expectation God has toward His people. Consider Adam and Eve in the garden. He told them to multiply.
At the time He gave that commandment, they were walking and talking with God. It was before they separated themselves from Him by sin.
So for them to multiply meant to raise up children who also walked and talked with God.

Later many specific instructions were given on how to do this.
Those instructions included:

  1. speaking to your children daily about the word of God. Deuteronomy 11:19 and just keep on reading!
  2. posting the scriptures prominently where they can be seen, remembered, and reviewed
  3. having teachers with godly faith for your children and not letting strangers of no faith teach your children
  4. not marrying a woman without faith to raise your children
  5. not marrying a woman who did not or would not honor God as an example to your children
  6. wives and teachers of your children fall into the same category, teachers of your children
  7. not murdering children.... abortion
  8. not preventing the little children from drawing near to Jesus as in public schools today
  9. not preventing the mention of His name in public places as in public school today
  10. not serving mammon instead of God as in America today
  11. and the list goes on, but circumstances do not permit continuation of this long list
I exhort you to read Deuteronomy 11:26 and the following scripture. It is pertinent to us now.

Where is the fear of God in America?
So many do not believe the fear of God is a good thing.
Many deny the righteousness of the Spirit of the Fear of God which Isaiah tells in 11:2 See also Proverb 8:13- That word translated as fear is the same word used also for men's fear when their knees knocked in terrible fear of an enemy. In the New Testament, the Greek word translated in the context of the fear of God is phobias.

I give you a letter from an old preacher explaining the situation.
This letter was written a while back. It is still true today. The entire letter is found in the book Our Sacred Honor, an anthology compiled by William Bennett. It says America has turned too much to worshipping god dollar, seeking profits instead of godliness. Please notice what was destroyed by the terror. You can dismiss this clear signal, but the signal is true. America must again serve God and not mammon. America must again lift up His standard to the little children. Or America will endure what President Adams forewarned.

Do not blame those who know not God, for judgment begins with the people of God. To whom much is given, much is expected. Understand. Be wise, and repent. The foolish will mock, but the wise will give heed. A copy of the speech and the preacher's letter from 1810 will be sent to those requesting it.
May He light up your life with truth that leads to a godly fear and a help for America to repent from her sin.
A remnant will come through the narrow gate. Many will try to enter in, but a few will choose the narrow road.
Most will take the wide and broad way that leads to eternal destruction. Draw near to God while He may be found.
The terror grows. There is no peace to the wicked. The righteousness is torn. The shield is down. May we lift it up again by our strength? No. Can He? Yes. As George Washington knew, God is our hope. As the signers of the Declaration of Independence knew, only God can protect our cause. When will we ever teach these truths again to our children in the schools of America? That is a good question for American's to ponder. Why should and why would God bless a nation where the father's heart is not inclined to the children concerning the word of God in their schooling? See Malachi 4:6 And why would He treat us differently from any of His people who justify themselves in worshipping other gods? Did not the Jews receive correction when their hearts turned from Him? That too was in His love, that He might turn His people.

Consider the abomination shows on television which Christians support by their purchases.
Consider the abomination books given to our children by the librarians and teachers who say What does it matter what they read, so long as they like to read the books?
Consider the ways we have fallen short of where we could be.
Read the book, The Light and the Glory. Read it with your family and to your children.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Seek Him while He may be found.

Let the righteous nation which keeps the truth enter in to His salvation. Isa 26:2

I have seen a little boy that laughed at his mother's spanking. That little boy did not fear at all the correction of his mother. Even his father did not spank hard enough to bring tears to the eyes. The boy had no reason to fear doing again that which his parents denied. The boy did not fear even his father's spanking. Sad days came for that little boy. It is good that we should fear him who has the power to destroy the body and cast the soul into hell. See Matthew 10:28. Surely a godly fear is a deterent to sin for many. Even our founding fathers knew this and often said so. But we have forgotten the wisdom of those who established this nation under God, and we have changed the meaning. No longer do our courts lift up His law, nor even do our schools for children lift up His law, but rather despise it by hiding it and removing it and punishing those who would mention His name. Oh what a difference. No longer a praise of His name, but a dearth of His name fills the land. And people ask Him to bless America? Why should He bless that which steals His word from the schools for children? Why should He bless a nation who has profit as a motive, goal and desire over Him? Why? Who could expect God to bless that which is contrary to His word? He is soverign. He planted America. It grew and was fruitful for a season. And then it turned sour. We must repent. He does not bless sin. The fabric of righteousness is torn, and through the tear comes that which we should have feared. Remember what He said, I set before you blessing and curse. Our early Presidents knew such things. President Adams made a speech on the matter. But we no longer teach the wisdom of those men who established the nation.
