To have faith towards God is to believe what He said.
Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness
See Romans 4:3 Galatians 3:6 and James 2:23
Now let's look into further understanding of faith.
1st Corinthians 13:13
Now abideth faith, hope, and Divine Love but the greatest of these is Divine Love....
Faith towards God is by hearing what God said He will do. Romans 10:10
Hope is the God given ability to wait patiently expecting it to be manifest. Romans 8:24,25
Love is the full manifestation of that which we had expected to be done.
When that for which we believed is manifest, then we no longer need to wait patiently expecting; so therefore
hope can drop off, it is no longer needed. Faith can drop off, because that for which we had believed in hope
has manifested. Manifest means to take form, to happen.
We will no longer need to have faith for our new body after we have received the manifestation of that new body,
ie after we have received it! Love is the manifestation of God. Love is the manifestation of His will. Divine love that is.
Hebrews 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed (created) (Gen 1)by the word of God
so that things which are seen were not made (Gen 2) of things which do appear
Romans 8:4,5 shows us that hope is the God given ability to wait patiently for that which we have believed
Genesis 1 and 2, and Hebrews 11:3 shows two phases or sides of the same thing, its creation and its formation.
We see in Genesis 1:27 that God created man,
and in Genesis 2:7 how God formed man out of the dust of the earth.
God created man in Genesis 1. And in Genesis 2, He made man.
It is spoken into being by the word of God. The word of God can be spoken by God, and it can also
be spoken by those who have heard His word and speak it by faith of Him. Have the faith of God, call those things which be not
as though they were. Adam was not. And God said "Let us make man in our image,... So God created man..." Genesis 1:26,27
Ref:Romans 4:17 God...calleth those things which be not as though they were. That is God kind of faith. That's what He has given us to have.
But we also know that faith without works is dead. Notice how God put works to His faith when He formed man out of the dust of the earth!
For everything it says God created, it also says, ...and God made. The "made" part is where he physically formed it. The CREATE part is
where He called those things which be not as though they were.
So it's a mystery, except that by faith we understand the workings of faith. Hebrews 11:3 tells us that.
"By faith we understand...
And sometimes we need a little or a lot of patience and endurance between the Creation and the Formation of that for which we have believed.
The God given grace to have that patience, and endure to the end, is what is defined as hope in Romans 8:24,25, as we
wait patiently, expecting, believing until it is manifested.
Websters dictionary tells us what is meant by the word manifest. To become manifest is to come to a place where one or more of the physical senses
can be aware of it. If there was nothing but air in a room, and then the sweet smell of the knowledge of Jesus manifested in the room
so people could smell with their nose something that wasn't there before,...that is a manifestation of the sweet smell of the knowledge of Jesus.
It can take own many different smells. To one a rose, to another cinamon, or other lilac, or perhaps whatever smell they love.
But the manifestation of something, anything, is when it comes into its physical being so one or more of our senses, touch, taste,
hearing, seeing, or smell can perceive it. Of course, in Christ, we learn another way to perceive, by the Spirit. Remember, God created man
spirit, soul, and body. Scripture even tells us , the body without the spirit is dead. It is the spirit that gives life to your body.
Faith toward God... see Genesis One, read it closely, aloud, several times and you should see whereof I speak. And God said, "Let there be.... and there was. " Then later, and God made the ..... emphasis made .
There is clear distinction between creation and formation.
One is of the spirit, the other is of the earth.
These two, creation and formation could also be identified as spiritual and physical.
Speaking it into spiritual existence, and then seeing it manifest, or forming it of the dust of the earth....
Have the faith of God who calls those things which be not as though they were (already in manifest existence)
as different from spiritual existence. See Romans 4:17 which has these words ...God who calleth the things which be not as though they (already) were.
Luke 17:6 have faith as a grain of mustard seed...any at all
1st John 5:14,15 ask in agreement together with your heavenly Father's revealed will
James 4:3 shows us the folly of asking according to our lusts instead of together in agreement with the will
of our Heavenly Father.
Faith towards God comes from hearing God's word. See Romans 10:10
Faith is what you believe is going to happen.
Hebrews 6 teaches us to have Faith Towards God
which is very different from faith towards self, or money in the bank, or the size of our army, or anything else.
David, the warrior king and the man said to be a man after God's own heart said that he would not put his trust
in horses or chariots but in the help of God. Our own nation's Declaration of Independence expressed this same
trust in Divine Providence. Read it and see. Also write for old quotes from the Founding Fathers expressing their
vision of our nation's need to keep its trust in God and to follow His word.
Faith can be based upon many different things by different people.
Faith in oneself:
The banker might believe he sees the bank stock is going to increase
so he goes and buys more stock in his bank. He has confidence that the stock will go up
because of what he has planned for the bank. His confident expectation is based on what he thinks
he knows about the future based upon what he thinks he will do for the bank. His faith is in himself
and what he believes.
Faith in someone else:
A small account holder in the bank has a need for a loan. He needs extra money to fix his car.
He calls the bank. The banker says sure, "Come on down, and get your loan. I will put the money into
your account tomorrow. " So the next day, the small account holder goes down to the bank confidently
expecting to see the extra money in his account. His faith to make the trip to the bank was based upon what the
banker told him.
In these examples the person performed an action based upon what he believed.
The banker bought more stock. The account holder made a trip to the bank to get what he expected. He moved.
The scientist took a rock up to the top of a tall building.
He dropped it off the roof to fall ten stories.
He had faith the rock would not float up to the clouds because he had learned the laws of physics.
He had heard the physics teacher explain the law of gravity.
He had faith in the physics laws that the rock would drop.
Or that the cannon ball would follow its designed trajectory.
Faith without works is dead. It requires action.
Now the next issue is from where we get our faith.
Do we get it from men? from institutions? from the laws of physics?from God?
Scripture says, Faith (towards God) comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Put God in the place of the banker or anyone or anything else. Acknowledge that God is on His throne, He is ruling over-all. Acknowledge this
to yourself and to Him. Hear what He says, and then act upon His word.
That is faith towards God, when you hear, believe, and act upon His word.
And now, may God give you the Spirit of Faith. Receive it in Jesus' holy Name.
(see 2nd Corinthians 4:13 for scripture validation of the phrase Spirit of Faith)

Matthew 21:22 And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer believing ye shall receive

Remember what Jesus said at the cross.
It is finished, and He bowed His head and gave up the ghost." John 19:30
John 15 the vine story
Using all the above, we speak the truth of God's will in love, believing,
confidently expecting, as we wait patiently for it to be made manifest,
continuing with our good works of faith towards the end for which we have believed.
And after a little while we shall see the end for which we have believed.
Could be a moment or longer, depending on time-table of Him who gave us the faith.
Remember Colossians 1:20,21 and Romans 8:28 and Isaiah 53 and Hebrews 12:2
God had the plan and faith for our Salvation before the world began. He worked it through Jesus at that cross.
Let your faith be joined together with appropriate actions that demonstrate your faith and hope until you
see the manifestation of that for which you believed. To him that believes together in agreement with God, shall nothing be impossible.
And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, and grants us
the petition desired of Him. See 1st John 5:14,15
And the Love of God be with you keeping faith towards God and not towards men, or self, or the world, or the deceiver.
