Prince Valiant is a story series that has some of the virtues of God for a child to receive. Strength, endurance, courage, hope in the good, hope in victory against great odds, good overcoming evil, many faces of evil shown clearly as evil, even many deceptions of evil are exposed for a child to see. It far beats the goosebump series from Scholastic Press which flood the schools and bookstands for children. Boycott Scholastic Press, don't buy their trash; it is delinquent behavior.
Brave Men and Great Captains is written by a father and son team, both Colonels and graduates of West Point. It helps a child learn what it means to be the general of his or her own life. It is an excellent book to read with or to your child. Read it to the younger children or let your older ones read it themselves. But give it to your children.
The Light and the Glory is a must have story of America for all families to have and read over and again.
The Shining Sword is a great story about growing courage and faith, told in an imaginary way.
