Encouraged Himself in the LORD

Christ in you, your hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

David Encouraged Himself in the LORD his God

This is one of my favorite understandings in scripture. Knowing that David was a man after GOD's own heart, put your faith in Christ in you, and speak to your soul. Christ Jesus is your internal gyroscope. He stabilizes you in the things of God. He works in you both to will and to do His good. Yeild yourself to HIM who is King of kings and LORD of lords. By faith. Nothing is impossible to them who believe in agreement with GOD.

I Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

Judges 20:22 And the people the men of Israel encouraged themselves, and set their battle again in array in the place where they put themselves in array the first day.

It is good for us to remember the former things of old which God has done for us.

It is good to call to rememberance His glory. His faithfulness.

Be transformed by the renewing of your thoughts on HIM.

Remember the things of old. Remember that which God has done.

Be encouraged in HIS tender and gentle mercies.

Open your mouth and recount HIS victory.

Command your soul to bless the LORD.

David did all this and more, with all his heart.
