And at the time, Adam and Eve walked with God, so for them to multiply, they would have to raise children that also walked with God, who knew God, and who talked with God. If you multipy people who know God, you get more of the same, not something different, not people who don't know God. So the command to train up children to know God was encoded in the command to multiply. It just takes understanding to see it. Training up children to know God is in God's first command to a family! Consider the weight of that and see if you're willing to yoke together with Jesus to carry the load. God bless you as you seek His guidance and strength to do it.
See Genesis 18:19 where it is made clear that God knew Abraham would be faithful to train up his children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. That Abraham would take the time and pay the price to teach and to train his children so they would "keep the faith" and pass it on to their children. Folks, you have to realize that the job of passing on the faith to your children is most important.
See Malachi 4:6, to understand the significance of turning our hearts to our children instead of being preoccupied with making money or pleasures. Turning our hearts to the faithful growth of our children is extremely important in the judgment of God. Look at what He says there. It will impress you.
