I had read science fiction from the fifth grade. The science fiction diet of reading certainly set me up to believe in man going into space, other worlds, and not a soon coming of Jesus Christ. It set me up to have what was fashionably called a flexible imagination. Some teachers even said it helped to stretch the imagination. It certainly did that. It put all kinds of endless possibilities and random variations and chaos into my mind. I loved chemistry and electronics. I later became a radio operator, K5UHE. Then got immersed in all the science of the Sputnik era, and all the science and evolution that was so strong in those days. God was something I heard about sometimes on Sundays, and mostly, nobody told me I needed to study the Bible. I had been told it was all messed up from a couple thousand years of men messing with it. At the time I was taking courses at A&M towards a degree in Bio-Engineering, when finally I decided to study the Bible for itself, by itself, according to its own definitions. That's part of the reason this particular page is written. I hope to help you see the truth of God's word, and to recognize that if you consider that God exists, He certainly is strong enough to preserve His own message to us. No puny man can undo the purpose of God. A few verses of scripture are given here to let you read for yourself what God has to say about the truth.
Does not physics teach us that neither matter nor energy can be created or destroyed? Then the human soul must exist even after the body drops. You see, the things of God are clearly seen from the things He has created. See Romans 1:20. Consider the other laws we see in physics. For every action, there is an equal and opposit reaction. They all are images of the spiritual laws of God. He is, like our Declaration of Independence declares, the supreme judge. He has established eternal rules of order and right. There are consequences to honoring or dishonoring those laws. Consider what happens to the human body if it becomes out of order. When the chemistry gets disordered, the body gets sick and dies. The wages of sin is death. But God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus did not come into the world to condemn the world, but to save all who would accept the mercy and grace of God. The world was already in sin, it was already suffering the curse of its sin, and God sent Jesus to reconcile all things on earth and in heaven. All who believe and accept the benefit receive His eternal salvation. Those who reject, they do choose for themselves to remain in their sins. But those who hear, and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, they shall be saved.
Prov 3:7 Be not wise in your own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
Proverb 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your ways.
Prov 26:12 Do you see a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope of a fool than of him.
Prov 19:27 Cease, my son, to hear the words that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
Pro 14:7 Go from the presence of a foolish man when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.
Mark 4:24 And He said unto them, Take heed what you hear
Mark 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men,...
Psalms 12:6 The words of God are pure, like silver refined in the furnace of the earth, refined seven times. Consider the books in the stores about mathematical patterns being found in the original languages of scripture, Hebrew and Greek. Within the context of scripture, those words are defined by the stories they tell. Like a series of simultaneous equations, they have certain solutions. Take the word of God and study it for life, for in it He has given us the way of life.
page 105 "The hand of Providence (the hand of God) has been so conspicuous in all this (the forming of America) that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations. (to God and country)" Commander-in-Chief George Washington to General Thomas Nelson, 1778
All laws, however, may be arranged in two different classes. 1) Divine. 2) Human...But it should always be remembered that this law, natural or revealed, made for men or for nations, flows from the same Divine source: it is the law of God...Human law must rest its authority ultimately upon the authority of that law which is Divine. James Wilson, Signer of the Constitution, and U.S. Supreme Court Justice. The law...dictated by God Himself is, of course, superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times. No human laws are of any validity if contrary to this. Alexander Hamilton, Signer of the Constitution. p 337
The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained. Inaugural Address, President George Washington
Benjamin Franklin: And have we now forgotten that powerful Friend? Or do we imagine we no longer need His assistance?...Without His concurring aid...we ourselves shall become a reproach and a byword down to future ages.
Thomas Jefferson similarly cautioned: "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever." p 334
Noah Webster: Our citizens should early understand that the genuine source of correct republican principles is the Bible,...particularly the New Testament, or the Christian religion. p 336 The education of youth should be watched with the most scrupulous attention. The education of youth lays the foundations on which both law and gospel rest. p 340
If you would like a copy of the King James source manuscripts with the old English removed, e-mail to me and request it. Send e-mail to request a King James version with the thee's and thou's and th's removed so it reads more like contemporary English but still retains the sense of those manuscripts used by the King James translators.
