You have to choose what you want. Then pay the price required.
CHOICE
This is how important choice is:
Deuteronomy 30:19 says this about a super number one thing for us to do:
See I have set before you this day life and death, blessing and cursing; choose life therefore that you may live.
God has told you to choose what you want; therefore you are responsible for each choice.
How many choices do you make each day of your life? Pray. Seek God for your help to choose.
Ref: Matthew 13:46 Pearl of Great Price, see the parable and read it aloud, slowly so you can hear it. And read it again.
In the book of Revelation we see this gentle instruction: I counsel you to buy of Me gold tried in the fire,
that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed,
and that the shame of your nakedness do not appear;
and anoint your eyes with eyesalve, that you may see.
Rev 3:18
It takes the righteousness of God through faith of Jesus the Christ to be able to know His peace.
In His peace, you can discover contentment which frees you from the idolatry of lusting after
the lust of the flesh,
the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life
( Ref: 1st John 2:16 )
This same peace is comfort to your soul when the gale winds blow.
The contentment frees the aging multi-millionaire from slaving to make his next million.
When he finally realizes he can't take with him, he begins looking for true riches, eternal riches.
The only thing he can possibly lay up in store
is the works of faith and obedience in love towards others, the good things of the heart.
More to be written, but this is a good seed that can bring fruit in your life if you plant it into your heart.
Ezekiel chapter 14 and verses 3 through 7 along with Ezekiel chapter 20 verse 16 are a light guiding us to clean up our heart. There was once a group of people who said they were seeking God. They did this for about twenty years. After that time, a man of God came to them and said, It is because you choose to have these idols around that you cannot hear the LORD. See First Samuel 7:2-7 for this story.
First Timothy 6:6 gives us a new and clear perception of contentment. We should rejoice and be glad in the ability to be content. For without contentment, how can a man and wife be happy if they are always empty. Without contentment, how can a maiden accept any husband; or a man any wife? Always looking for one more improvement with anxiety for lack of some imaginary goal is a curse of tension that need not be there.
Double-mindedness is an enemy and a robber of contentment. The double-minded man shall not receive anything of the LORD. See James 1:1-8 for this context of scripture, and take it as good advice...something to work on, to strive towards. Tonot waver like a wave of the sea in your faith. To not allow the winds of changing circumstances to change the height of your faith.
Give thanks always in all things, and this will help. Being thankful is a good way to help your life. Just as taking responsibility for your own choices and what you do. Not what you just meant to do , but what you do.
It's better to plant what seed you have than wait past the season while you try to figure a way to plant more.
Use what you have, where you are, now. Behold, NOW is the day of salvation, so long as today is called now. 2nd Corinthians 6:2
Scripture tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and all else shall be given unto you. Matthew 6:33 So even our seeking to know Him and His will for our life should be based upon our desire to be with Him and like Him.
Planting the good seed of the word of God into your heart is a good way to grow in faith and understand. So seek out the book of the LORD, and read. Study to show yourself approved unto God a workman that need not be ashamed.
Where peace and contentment or lacking, anxiety is a terrible thing that blocks faith and spreads like thorns. Scripture says be anxious for nothing. To acccomplish this we must trust God. We must trust Him for all things and in all situations.
Now the just shall live by faith. And this is the faith that overcomes the world, even our faith in Jesus Christ, by whom we have the victory.
We must tear down the idols in our heart. We must cease from seeking the goals of idols and begin seeking as God leads us.
Let there be a fine tuning in your heart and mind and understanding. Obey Him, rather than doing your own thing.
As we have received the free gift of righteousness, we can know peace with God. As we fear the wrath of God more than of men then we should be able to find peace with God. But respecting men more than God prevents people from maintaining peace in their heart. The fear of men, the respect of men makes us anxious about what they will think. Such respect of persons leads people down many false trails.
Anxiety should be recognized for what it is. It should be counted as falling short of the way God would be in a situation. Anxiety includes fear and doubt and confusion instead of peace that God is in control. Anxiety includes a double-mindedness instead of letting the light of your eye be singly focused upon God who gives you the victory. We are instructed to "be anxious for nothing". Yet how many are anxious way too much about way too many things.
Let anxiety be counted as a sin to be avoided: a sin which is subtle and deceptive and mis-guiding in any way it exists. Repent therefore from anxiety and let peace rule in your heart (Colossian 3:15,16)
To seek to know God's will for the sake of doing His will in loving service and obedience is one thing.
To seek to have faith God will help you doing what you want to do is another thing altogether.
It helps when you recognize that you by yourself can do no good thing.
It helps when you recognize that only His purpose will stand in the end.
It helps to recognize the worldly things will not pass the test.
Begin obeying in the small things and you will grow.
Be obedient in what you know to do, then you will be able to understand more.
He that is faithful in that which is least shall be given more.
Anxiety, fear, and doubt result from failure to trust that what is available to you is sufficient to proceed to victory, success.
Use what you have where you are and trust God. Christ is your sufficiency.
The idea of an attitude of poverty is like a man who never thinks he has enough of anything to accomplish what he wants (his vision) and he fails to trust God to help he get from point A to point B. It's an "I can't do it." kind of attitude. "I don't have enough." Like the first general that President Lincoln put in command of the army. He always wanted more troops and more training, and more favorable circumstances. General George B. McClellan just didn't know how to push through with what he had. George Washington said every general would like to have more troops and more advantage, but the good general is one who can see to use what he has and win. For those of faith it's a matter of faith toward God to be your sufficiency. With God's help I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Remember Gideon. Remember the stories of victory when people trusted in Jehovah Jireh
Psalm 147:6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: He casteth the wicked down to the ground.
Psalm 25:9 The meek will He guide in judgment: and the meek will He teach His way.
Sometimes, a thought of efficiency comes to mind, in the context of utilizing our resources.
In many ways, efficiency is connected with profits in the realm of this world; however our God is not Dollar-Profits.
Instead, to us who believe, our God is Jehovah Jireh.
Letting the god Dollar-Profits guide would allow confusion of purpose. Is your purpose to follow the Almighty Eternal Creator Savior God?
Or is your purpose to follow efficiency of generating profits?
God's way is not our way.
Let the same understandings be applied to all these things, from dollar-profits, to fame, to esteem of men, praise of men, recognition of men, success, reputation, appearance in the sight of men, and all else. We have the high calling of Christ as our goal. See Philippians 3:14,15
Now we also have wheels within wheels. Understanding this helps us to see contemporary chain of events working toward a harmonious conclusion of later chain of events. Thus a man could be called to faithfulness in the planting of his farm crop, his daily work, so he could be fruitful and then also help in other things. To seek God can be done even in our plowing of the fields, if we do it as unto HIM.
