What are the most important things on earth connected with physical living?
  1. air
  2. water
  3. food
  4. shelter, protection, clothing
  5. way to exchange, trade, money
Do you believe in a heirarchy of things?
like keeping the most significant number and the decimal place right?
or do you believe things are random, chaotic? God introduced the important things in the book of Genesis.
He also shows a heirarchy concept.
Due course, due process, and many other references showing things need to be done in order.
The human body dies when it gets out of order. Chemistry or bones, either one.
So also history must be studied heirarchially.
Else you're just studying leaves blowing in the wind.
Topics of history must also be studied heirarchially.
Else time is wasted and the decimal point may never get in the right place.
After the above list, you may put things like children and their training.
This brings us to the issue of schools, where children are taught and what and how and to what goal.
History as all other things is best taught "First things first, in due process, in order of significance.."
Mathematical significance is good to be understood here.
A teacher can not teach who does not know, he can only ramble. Just as the blind cannot lead the blind.
Knowing the history of these things is key to knowing what is most significant today.
Every child needs a course equivalent to the sliderule to learn the significance of Significance. What teacher would spend time teaching a child how to understand the pueblo indians, if he knew that tomorrow the children would have to know how to use special ways to prepare their drinking water and maybe wate a gas mask to breath? That is an example of significance, extreme, but true. The things inbetween are subtle shades of degree ranging from zero to higher than you can count. But the range of significance is true whether you can count it all are not, whether you acknowledge it or no. Home         Index
