Parents in Plano, north of Dallas, tried to get their school system to listen to their thought on excellence.
Now there is a law suit going on in that school district, and the school district just ignores the parents views on excellence. After all, the school system has the whole national network of education economy to back it up on what it says. The Federal Department of Education, which is not a power granted in the Constitution (to teach our children). The many federally sponsored universities on education. And the many studies from the UN and UNESCO world plan for education, all support what is happening in our schools. The good people in Montgomery county had to publicly call their superintendent a liar and get rid of 97 % of her staff from the administration back in the early part of the new School to Work Program, then called Goals 2000. The previous superintendent allowed the people of Wichita Falls to be told and to believe, long enough, that the 30million dollar bond would be mostly for school improvments; then did what he'd planned all along, built a brand new school, instead of giving existing ones more help; and used much of the money for fixing things like long term maintainance, roofs and the like, which the money for those things had been spent on other developments, administration and training for new programs, or who knows what. But the point is, few parents were privy to the intention of a new school building. Fewer still were aware of the need for huge maintainance costs which had been passed over, to be paid out of the bond issue. And even fewer ever found out why. Where did those maintainance costs get spent that they now had to be paid out of a bond issue. Well, we found out the hard way, that taxes had to be raised more than expected, and the budget safety money was way over allocated. But that same man published his own staff booklet with a leading quote from Machiavelli, about you have to be sneaky when you're trying to make big changes; and the administration down around Conroe in Montgomery county even had private memo's about not letting the parents know about the scope and intent of the changes until enough got done so it would be irreversible by the time the parents saw through the maze.

This is not a made up story, but a part of history and the perception of many good parents since Clinton began his new education plans. Oh, you didn't know about that? Well, jump on over to www.eagleforum.org and read the Dear Hillary letter. It tells the story.

I praise the teachers, administrators, and schoolboard for their desire for excellence.
Shall we also praise the teachers, administrators, and schoolboard for keeping up with the federal rules?
They are doing an excellent job of that, keeping up with the Federal rules.
According to the federal school system internal audit, it is doing an excellent job, and they keep telling us all that it is so.

The local school people seem to be busy keeping up with all the red tape for that 3% federal government money.
In our city of Wichita Falls, we have grown from a superintendent's office of about three people in a tiny building of a few rooms, to an administrative staff and office space that requires a full size junior high school building, plus the staff at Region Nine building plus the supervision and counselors now located on school campuses.
And all of this for the same size student population!
So you know for sure that there is a huge administrative and supervisory and overseeing going on concerning what happens in the classroom.
You can rest assured, that all those statistics and form checks will see to the best interest of your student.

The system employees and servants are very busy reading what the system says about itself. They mostly have to be to keep their job and their good standing within the System.
We all have been told the system has been doing an excellent job, for all the bumper stickers and tv and newspaper ads, and billboard signs continually tell us so, A DECADE OF EXCELLENCE, is the popular bumper sticker.
And the economic powerhouse of Coke proves that if you say anything loud enough and long enough that people believe it, especially when it comes from Authority.
I went to the schoolboard meeting to ask the representatives of the parents to consider what outside voices said about the school system.
The school system itself had already told our elected representives what to think about the outside voices.
Even the newspaper editor already knew, and consider it from left field, not worthy of attention.

The school system even published its news paper, with headlines about a manufactured problem, as in , not true. The school system seems to uniformly ignore any external audit of its system.
Only what the school system says is worth your knowing, Excellence in Education!
Contrary to the international test results which have delined steadily for decades.
Contrary to the SAT scores which had to be adjusted to reflect what the system wanted to say.
Contrary to the New York Teacher of the Year who wrote the book, Dumbing Down Our Children.
Contrary to the declining reading ability of students over the last 50 years.
And contrary to many many scriptures.
But so long as the school system says they're excellent, many will rest assured in that comfort, whether it be true or false.
And in their comfortable resting, the children of many are hurt, losing out on what could be much better.

Many newspaper editors, and many school superintendents and principals prevent good people from being heard. See the PISD legal case for documentation in court of the stone-wall on information, the information black-out that exists. See documentation of a big problem in Plano

People like Dr. D.J. Kennedy from Coral Ridge Presbyterian in Florida are from left field.

People like the retired army advisor to President Kennedy, Col. Tomlin, are from left field, not worthy of attention to what they say.

People like Steven Sakossor are from left field, not worth reading,
Can't take time to read much outside information about the schools.
Too busy keeping up with federal rules and regulations for that 3% money.
This seems true for the teachers, administrators, and the schoolboard members.
History records what happens when a nation's people make excuses to justify the declining values.
When I was growing up we used to deplore the German protestants for having said, I have to do what I'm told. I was just following the instructions of my superiors. You have to go along to get along.
But now, that seems to have become the new american way. Just ask the people from www.pfaw.org, people for the american way.
They even teach it in schools to our kids. Every body's values are just as good as yours.
And it is a hate crime to believe your values are superior to anyone else, or your cultural thing is more to be desired than any other culture, and if Clinton had his way, it would include, as is already happening in New York and California, homosexual life style being taught in the schools.

There is a cultural war for control of how and what is taught in the schools. Abe Lincoln knew and said that what is taught in the schools today will be in the government tomorrow.
