The Bible Teaches How to Teach and Learn

Teach all as from God and by God, with faith and hope toward God, in His point of view and with His explanations.

Isaiah 28:16 Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation, a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner (stone) , a sure foundation, ; he that believeth shall not make haste.

Isaiah 41:20 that they might SEE, KNOW, CONSIDER, and UNDERSTAND together (with all its parts) The city boy goes to the country, sees a cow, after awhile knows what it is, considers all things about the cow and its living environment, and finally understands how it all works together

The boy sees an engine, is told about it so he knows what it is. He takes it apart with guidance and puts it back together (considers it) and after awhile, understands all together how it works and why each of its parts has to fit together.

HAB 2:2 write the vision and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it make it large so it can go into the mind clear and large and separated from other things, not confused not co-mingled as the two twins that were born joined at the head, not mixed up or confused. ... What goes in confused comes out confused.
What goes in clear can come out clear.
Garbage in, = garbage out.
You get what you gave.
You get back from yourself what you gave to yourself.

I worked the other day with a little boy, a seventh grader who had been instructed to make his letters with lots of frills and curliques. He didn't make them even, he didn't slant them regularly, but he did go to painstaking effort to put in fancy frills on his letters, such that they were confusing. He didn't know the PLAIN (Hab 2:2 ) basics, but he was wasting his time trying to embroider on garbage with fancy frills.

Teacher errors: 1. going to fast, making haste 2. allowing confusion 3. allowing ugliness, in writing, deed, word, picture 4. disconnection 5. teaching a fact for the sake of a fact instead of tying it in , connecting it to the larger body of knowledge, in due perspective (order) Teacher goals: 1. patient presentation, moderation and understanding 2. clear and plain to the student 3. beauty, clarity, harmony, pattern 4. connection from beginning to end

As Ezekiel says the whole body has to come together. It is the teacher's job to bring together the whole body of knowledge, but not all at once, but part by part. Making clear the major joints and the continuities. All at once would overwhelm the student. Must show the joints and connections if the student is to understand.

Build the foundations stone by stone and layer by layer.

Teach them how to hold their pencil correctly.
It is shameful how so many are not even taught such a basic thing.
The way most hold their pencil is a strain and tires their muscles prematurely when attempting to write very much .
The pencil should be held in the tripod of thumb and first two fingers about 3/4 inch from point.
This allows for least muscle movement and therefore longest endurance while writing.

Take care to introduce new concepts with clear, large, plain, well-formed characters and without making haste.
Doing so will make great improvements in teaching results.
