Living Faith

You can put faith in God and leave your car unlocked, but a good reason to go ahead and lock your car is so you can know if someone broke in. Else, they can steal from your unlocked car (any property you own) and you don't even have a broken window to alert you to look for what was lost. At least, if you lock it up, you can see the broken lock and know something's probably been taken. Otherwise, you might go on thinking you still had what you thought you had.

Having done all, stand in the mercy of God.

That one verse clearly tells us to take heed to do the things we've seen and heard of Him to do. He has not promised to protect us from ourselves. He told us to choose. He told us to choose life instead of death. He explained the details. Now, what will you choose.

If you don't do what He said, how can you expect His blessing on what you did do? HE has explained, that He wants obedience, not our own idea of what to do. Obedience, not the sacrifice of what we decide to offer Him, but obedience to give that which He directed. To do that which He led us to do.

Be diligent to know the state of your flocks.

Be diligent.

See the diligent man. He shall stand before kings.

Diligence is a virtue of God.
Let it grow in your life.
Don't let presumptuous faith be another excuse for lack of diligence, failure to perform that which is expected.

Apply this to your children's school.
Your work.
Your home.
Yourself.
Presumption on grace is a common sin. The deceived think grace excuses them from the requirements of diligence.
