Exodus

Does a plastic rose smell as sweet.
If not, is it because the plastic has nothing to loose,
it cannot, indeed will not die...though it has all the appearance
of a rose, it gives nothing like a rose. Because the true rose gives, it dies.
And is raised in the multiplication of it's seed, to live ever more.
But the plastic rose, what does it give? How does it put itself out to help ?
It does not, it just sits there and looks pretty, but it does nothing to give life.

The plastic church for "church's sake" where appearances
and observances override heart and soul.
Don't you know God doesn't want this?
He wants spirit and truth, not formalities of "Hello, how are you today?"
He wants interaction where people take responsibility of Christ in them
to care one for another instead of plasticity where people pass off
their individual responsibilities to God in heaven. No! He wants to be
God through you listening to your neighbor. Don't just tell your neighbor to pray about it.
Christ in you cares for your neighbor. Let it show. Let the light of Christ in you shine forth.
Be a friend. Be a caring friend. Anticipate and fulfill. Bear the burden. Share the joy.
Commune with your neighbor.

The old adage of more fellowship bonding in a bar than in "church" should no longer be true.

It means caring about people more than appearances. Dealing with what's before you rather than maintaining appearances. Being led of God through His Spirit in your heart rather than an appointment schedule. Fellowshiping rather than appearazing. Listening if someone doesn't answer "Fine" when you say "How are you?" instead of walking on past them.

Don't you know the 21 year olds find more fellowship in a bar than they do in church. Do you wonder why? Think about it. Consider your ways. And change them to give the warmth and personal attention of Christ in you to the youth of your church as well as to the old.

The personal way young people with monthly checks bond in downtown Houston or Austin
is so much more than what happens when they see a church building filled with people dedicated to maintaining appearances. Worship without fellowship is what?
The formality without the love and time and experiences shared between people is what?
The youth are offered personal attention from the world.
What is your church doing to give them personal interaction?
Or is your church too busy giving exposure to the main officials and the tapestries of being proper.
