I want to thank all the teachers and administrators who care about the children. It is tough to be in the public education business today. Thank you for all your patience and hard work to help the children.
Special thanks to those of you who take special opportunities to introduce good ideas into the classroom beyond the mere facts.
Extra, extra thanks to those who have understood my efforts in helping children get a solid foundation.
My desire is to see the good teachers paid a good wage. They should have good rewards for a job well done. After all, parents, if we're going to trust our children to these teachers, shouldn't they be the best we can afford for our children? Of course! Let's see more money spent on the teachers directly and a lot less on layers of administration, regulation keeping, and other expenses that are only a government function and not a benefit to our children.
Do you realize that just a few years ago the entire school adminstration was housed in one little building not much bigger than a home? And we had just as many schools open then as we do now. The kids did just great. The teachers got to do their job of teaching children a whole lot more because there was a whole lot less red tape for them to spend time doing for the state.
Thank you, teachers. I am working to rally parents behind you and support you in your desire to help children and get a good wage for it.
