TOWN HALL
Readers comments are invited for consideration to be posted on this page or even their own separate page at this site.
It is my desire to see a certain kind of fruit from these 'townhall' communications.
That fruit can be defined as:
1. That fruit is evident when Christian parents have seen the light to train up their children in a godly way.
2. When Christians hear their preacher explain differences between humanism and Christianity.
3. When everyone has heard the source of humanism and understands its origins and growth.
4. When Christian parents are told about the battle for children's minds that has been declared by humanists in our schools.
5. When parents see the differences in our law and government since Humanism was applied in law school instead of Natural Law.
6. When parents see the effects of evolution on the teaching of not only biology, but also law, physics, math, language, history, and economics.
7. When parents see the connection between evolution theory, and relative values and positivism; how they reinforce one another contrary to Christian belief. Even denying Christ. Such a foundational understanding given to children is nothing but a settup to lead them away from any Christian teaching they ever had. Let's face it, one hour a week in church cannot match 40 hours a week in a humanistic philosophy classroom of public school where God is ignored 40 hours five days of the week.
Current topics for review include:
- How wide spread are these problems? Are there any other witnesses to testify to such things?
See Montgomery County where parents rose up in 1993 and took back their schools.
See Oregon where parents are suing. See the Ft. Worth group of parents on menu of this site.
The problem is spread over all states of the union, and still most parents don't know about it.
Why? The media is controled by people who have not considered this information rates being published for parents to read.
- Our local man was appointed to head up a committee on text book review for Texas History.
When he took action contrary to what the state commissioner of education wanted him to say, guess what happened. The committee got shut down. Would any local media cover the story? I asked each tv, radio, and newspaper to cover the gag story. No media coverage happened. Why? Is it because this story makes the school system look bad, biased, prejudicial, one-sided, power-hungry. Or is it because the media didn't want to risk their profit by going against the establishment? Still the 'system' continues to feed parents the propaganda about so many parents being involved in the new standards for text books. To me, this kind of manipulation is quasi-legal deception carried out against naive parents. It might be a serious breach of trust education has a different effect on children's values than was expected by the parents who trusted the system! See the 1952 Britannica on Education and how parents seek to raise up children with their own values through their school system.
To have representatives from Region IX publish literature and make speeches affirming the fairness and balance of text book review committees is a shame to ignorant parents who naively trust the state system.
It angers me that so many people in the system have their head in the sand, ignoring the deceit worked against parents, or at least doing nothing to expose the problem.
- It's not the details of what's presented in text books that parents need authority to change. Parents have chased falling leaves off a rotten tree for years. It's the seed thought attitudes of the writers that the parents need authority to choose. Until parents can select books written by people with their own point of view, the books will not be acceptable and all verbage to the contrary is just garbage. Christian parents need and want books written by Christians for their children. A Christian filter is very different from an atheist filter, and the humanistic writers know this all too well. It's high time Christian parents woke up to the same facts of life! You won't change the fruit until you change the root and the seed. The true issue is who writes the books. The details of coverage are all a result of the belief system of the authors. Wake up!
- A city wide meeting where parents are in control, not some school district person, an old fashioned town hass meeting where national concerns can be expressed at this local level is the best way to bring all this conflict into honest and fair resolution. But so long as parents are kept in the dark, so long as the school system authorities get away with just publishing how golden the kings clothes are, the kids will keep on being sold out. And parents will wonder someday, what went wrong, and how did I miss it?
- We parents need a pool of money to guarantee some teachers the help they need for speaking their minds in a public town hall meeting where everyone can hear. Right now, and for years past, good teachers have been gagged by the fear of job intimidation. They don't trust the parents to take care of them if they get on the wrong side of the school system administration. This is not a joke. This is a terrible and fearful situation to be happening in America, the land of the free and the home of the brave.
- The first thing that angered me in Wichita Falls ISD was the shocking discovery learned the hard way, ie by personal experience that even after I had notified the school to require my signature prior to any sex education, the school still went behind my back and did it anyway. They hurt my little girl. They abused my relationship with my own daughter by putting fearful thoughts into her imaginative mind. TV station invited me on the air with it, but when I told them I would not express all that emotion they changed their mind.
The school system justification was for what they did was essentially in these words at every level from the principal on up through the revolving doors all the way to the superintendent. "Well, this wasn't a state sponsored event, it was a local sponsored event put on by Women's Junior League, so we didn't have to follow the rules you thought we had to follow." Lots of people here in town think this is a good idea, but there are some who know the error of this program.
1. our school was doing sex ed to first grade girls and boys, folks, that children six years old, being talked to by pure strangers introduced by the state.
2. the school did not want parents to know about the 'short-course'.
3. the principal told me "You're the only one to complain in the eight years we've been doing this program."
4. The principal told me, "No we're not going to tell the parents about it. If we tell the parents, then how can we catch a bad parent abusing their own child?"
5. The system was allowing women who had been raped or molested by their own fathers to warn six year old boys and girls to watch out how their daddy's and mommies were holding them or touching them.
6. Women's Junior League had brought this program to town some eight years before I discovered it.
The same program had been going on, and no one was telling us parents about it. Why? Because they thought that was their best shot at catching the 'bad parents' so they could 'protect the children'.
I have a lot to say about this, but call me or email for more information.
- The next thing that bothered me terribly was the way teachers would tell me things privately and off the record, but did not want to go public with their opinions of what was happening in the schools. Why? For fear of their job. Not just one teacher, not two or three, but many. And other parents told me similar stories of their conversations with teachers. Much intimidation of teachers has occured. Realizing this gag on the teachers in school made me remember the way things were in communist and dictator countries. It didn't seem very American for teachers to be afraid to speak their opinion for the good of parents and the children they were trusted to teach!!! I want this atmosphere of gag restrictions to be lifted. It comes from the system, and it comes all the way down from the top. Remember how the state level authority tried to intimidate a text book review committee. Then consider district superintendents and school principals who will not set the example of telling openly what many are saying privately. Such concerns deserve to be brought into the light where parents can get informed of those views that oppose the state system. But all we hear here at WFISD is how excellent the system is and how wonderul the education results are as shown by standard test scores. I agree with those members of the Texas State School Board who say the testing system is a farce, a misrepresentation of what has been accomplished!
- Your money is being spent by state on state system for so-called 'self-esteem' of your child.
Do you know what values are taught? Does your pastor know? Who do you know who has looked into these new programs? WIll you just let the 'state system' send in whatever values it wants to your children?
Do you know the differences between humanistic values and Christian values? Ask your pastor! Or e-mail to this site and ask for information.
- What about sex abuse education for kindergarten and first graders and third graders? Did you know many high ranking people actually have told me they do not want parents to know about this program called Bad Touch Sex Education and put on by the Women's Jr. League.? After I complained for two years and said I would go on tv if they did not publicize their program, a meeting was held where the system decided to print a tiny reference on the school lunch calender, with no explanation. Maybe I helped motivate them or maybe they did that much on their own. Frankly, I believe I did stir up the pot just a little bit. But more parents must get into the battle. The school paid people don't believe parents care enough to come to meetings and find out what's happening in school. They've told me this from the top down through out our local schools. "We can't get parents to come to meetings..." is what they say. To which I respond, Tell them there is a conflict, a problem and some things are not 'excellent' to everybody, and then more parents would come."
- What percent of school budget is actually spent on teachers just for time in classroom teaching?
- How much is spent on overhead of layers of audit supervisors, etc?
- Why won't the system tell parents how much of the O.B.E. is already in our schools?
- What are the real changes that have been implemented subtly since 1987 as printed in Dr. Carnine's handbook about major social changes? And what is the background of social engineering in the education departments? And why are parents asked for their permission with full disclosure given?
Why is the only info sent out by WFISD make everything sound rosey, peachy keen, great, and EXCELLENT? Is it not to hide the issues that are causing so many parents to move their children into private schools! Yes, of course it is. Hiding the whole truth is one thing the school system does a lot.
It's not just here. See Montgomery County where parents fired 95% of the administration in the early 1990's.
See the federal lawsuit from parents in Oregon. See the Texas School Board page on menu of this site.
- Does you child read at less than 200 words per minute? Why can't he read twice as fast? Other kids do if they're lucky enough to have someone explain how. Most graduating seniors should be able to read much faster and with good comprehension. Do you know the history of this failure by the school system?
No. You are a parent. And the teachers haven't told you the history of changes in reading and spelling education. The teachers have failed the parents in this regard. Many teachers tell me locally, and it happens everywhere, they need to keep their job, so they can't rock the boat against the 'system'. But now the old teachers are leaving, and all the new young ones don't know any better. See the chapter on teacher education in the book Dumbing Down Our Children.
In a town hall meeting, everyone there can hear what everyone else says. The people can gain a consensus of what other people think. We need to hear one another. This page and its branches will help serve the purpose of a town hall meeting on a variety of topics of local interest.
Our children deserve a community effort of parents so we can better do what parents are supposed to do: train up our children in a godly manner. Give the children all the help of which we are capable so they can carry on the values and not be led astray into a valueless society.
Just read the last few issues of the Torch from Texas Eagle Forum to see articles printed last Fall of 1996 on how those who fight against Christian faith are working hard to convert the children to their own godless attitudes. Nation wide articles are now coming to the front that spell out the war for values
in the national public school system, some of which has leaked down into Texas and even into Wichita Falls. Yes, the words are strong. Why? Because the battle is happening. It is time to recognize the major cultural changes that are occuring even in our local public schools and how it affects our children.

WHO WILL TEACH OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN?
Children's education through the public schools will be a major topic of this forum.
Additionally, the use of tax money in local government of all forms will be covered and discussed.
This includes city, school, county, state, and federal money spent in Wichita Falls. By the consent of the governed, perhaps we can help our government serve us the way we desire.

8. It is not my desire to condemn anyone, but I do condemn certain actions, cover-ups, and silent complicance as non-christian actions. I do urge all parties to partake of the grace and mercy of God and begin to stand up for Jesus Christ in the training up of our children. I hope each teacher and each administrator will begin to fear God more than they fear trouble on their job. The mercy of God leads all to repentance. What is the sin? Seeing a sin and not sounding the alarm. If anyone see a thief and does not alert the victim, then that person is a partaker with the thief. Isn't that what the Bible teaches?
If your child was being victimized in a way you didn't know, wouldn't you want someone to tell you?
I do not ask any teacher or administrator whether they attend church or believe in God. I do ask are you telling the parents everything they need to know about the changes in American education? Or if you have been covering up the problem by not speaking out, then are you willing now to speak the truth?
I am looking for a strong and courageous teacher locally to stand up and tell the story from the inside.
Surely there will be provision made for such a teacher.
America was built by people who did not fear man more than they feared God. America was built by people who trusted in the providence of God. Those founding fathers hoped that we would remember always to trust in God. America, we have slipped and fallen from where we were. It is time to return to the true as shown in scripture and forget the ways of man which contradict scripture. We have all sinned. Parents and teachers alike in the training up of our children. We all must cease being ignorant or weak and begin to fulfill our duty as godly parents and teachers, serving God, giving ourselves first to Him, and then to do what is right.
His mercy is everlasting, and His grace is more than sufficient. Children have been hurt. Families have been wounded by the hurting children. It is time to recognize the serpent that bit us (John 3:14) that we may be healed. I do not want to see any more children going away to college with a false understanding of American history, unable to read, write, or multiply, thinking America was founded on greed and self-esteem. I want to see students told the true Christian roots of America and to know the mask of humanism for what it is. Humanism is to many people simply another word for humanitarianism and so many Christians accept the terminology as identical to the good Samaritan. But in truth, many atheists hide behind the deceptive mask of humanistic organizations building their strength and destroying the faith of little children. These things are clearly spelled out for all to see in national literature of the humanist organizations.
Christians can live in the world, but we must not let our children be taught by the world. We must teach our children our ways, else they will be taught the ways of the world. And for a Christian, that is wrong to let their children be taught a system of ignoring or denying God. Thank you.
