Mr. Zhang Shu Mei, and his wonderful violins

On September 1st, 2004 Mr. Zhang Shu Mei was selected as one of the top twenty-nine of the world's best instrument makers to be involved in a violin replicating project.

He plays and loves the violin. His love for how the instrument plays is also what drives the wonderful way in which he builds them. You can be assured this is a love for music by the chief musician himself, and not a machine produced instrument.

He has studied intensively all the major styles of constructing violins, from Italy to Europe and American ways. Then he has added his own ingenuity and love for the sound to develop his own unique style. Surely his violins will be in the forefront of names to be sought after in the years to come.
