Words and Reading

Take this first building block and give it to your child.
Help lay a good foundation for the strong fortress of a love for words and reading in your child.

Reading will help him find and learn what the mass media will not shove at him.
Reading will enable him or her to search out the answers.
Reading good books is a door-way to knowledge.

Does your child already devour books? Then you may not need this. Otherwise, your choice is between spending some time with your child to help inspire reading delight or allowing television and sound-bites to capture the mind and enslave it to whatever the mass media is promoting.

A few simple helps for some young children can easily make the difference between final success and strength of income. The difference between a low paying job where there's never enough money left over to save anything, and a high paying job that makes it easy to accumulate wealth. Here's your chance to give the help and insure opportunity for good success. Seek out the book of the Lord and read.

Study to show yourself approved unto God,
a workman that need not be ashamed
rightly dividing the word of truth.

In the beginning was the word....

In the beginning was the word and the word was with God...

May His word enter into your heart and enlighten your soul.

Appreciate the word.

Every word of God is pure, refined seven times.

The good books worthy of being read are what we must spend time reading instead of wasting that time on non-productive things. The better we can read the more we can learn. Good readers can go miles between times they need a teacher to explain. Good readers can use one book to explain another book. Good readers find books that are good teachers and through books can go at their own pace, which is faster than just following the crowd.

Everything should be read in the light of Christ. All books should be selected for their content and author. Accept the good and reject the things that destroy good thinking. Choose your reading material well.

A biography of a good man can give you a life-time's experience in a few hours if you read it.

Then perhaps what you learn can save you a few years of mistakes. Good books are worthwhile. But those who can't read well enough to pick them up will not benefit from what they offer. Take the gift of reading, and use it to your advantage. Be wise.

This help could make the difference between getting a college scholarship and a degree and $40,000 a year job or more, or not. It is your choice. Help my child learn to read better and love reading for the rest of his life? Invest money in this to help my boy? Or save this money and waste the added income through all the years? What shall I choose?
