One thing a father should do

We can learn what a father does when we see why God choose Abraham as father of a great nation.
He knew that Abraham would train up his children in the way of the Lord. We are all commanded to teach our children diligently in the word of God.

Psalms 119:9 {BETH.} Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word.

Psalms 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

It is our job to make known the things of God to our children. Psalms 89:1 {Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite.} I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

Psalms 100:5 For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations.

He is faithful to work good on behalf of your children. Psalms 119:90 Thy faithfulness [is] unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

His dominion endures even today. Psalms 145:13 Thy kingdom [is] an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion [endureth] throughout all generations.

His righteousness exalts our children, lifting them out of the mirey clay. Let us give the children to know His righteousness. Psalms 89:16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

GOD HAS MAGNIFIED HIS WORD ABOVE ALL HIS NAME

Psalms 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
